Have you had a "WOW!" moment lately?


There is a great article in Experience Life magazine, entitled Don't Miss Your LifeI find that I can easily get caught up in the day-to-day routine and hectic, stressful pace of daily life.  This article is a wonderful reminder to "stop and smell the roses". 
The writer, Joe Robinson, suggests creating a "To-Live" list, that gives you a set of fun things that you'd like to do or experience (sooner rather than later!).  I think it's an even better idea than a Bucket list.  He asks a few questions and gives examples to help jumpstart your fun list, like what places would you like to visit or what activities would you like to try? 
I never thought I would even attempt to run a marathon, but Chris and I did it.  That's one thing from my list!  What would be first on yours?

  3. Stopping by from Mingle Monday...WAY TO GO on the marathon!! I've done 3 halfs and a sprint triathlon...signed up for my first marathon this fall and need to start building the mileage. How long did you train for your race?

  4. Noellen, next on my list is singing special music at church. I'm practicing this song - Blessings, by Laura Story. I'll be singing with two other ladies, but will still probably be super nervous! Lots & lots of practice will take place first, though!

  5. Hi TriGirl! We probably didn't train long enough - only about 4 1/2 months. I think it's recommended that you train for at least 6 months. Did you train for your 3 halfs by yourself or with a group? Congrats on the sprint triathlon - to me triathlons are a lot more physically challenging!

  6. I mostly trained on my own. I have a friend I occasionally run with and we sign up for a lot of the same races but she is faster than me. My husband will go on the same runs as me but is also a lot faster :)

  7. I am trying so hard to motivate myself to train my first 1/2! It is so much easier to relax on the couch now that I am on my summer break from teaching! Thanks for giving me some motivation!

  9. Caro, I'm not going to lie - the training for the marathon was difficult, but if you have a good support group, you can definitely do it! I'd recommend running with a friend or group - it makes it a lot more fun! I'd love to hear how's it's going for you - keep me posted. :)
